A NEW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER

Efforts to construct a domestic violence shelter in Klickitat County continue. Funding received includes a $250,000 award from the state for construction costs, a $20,000 grant from Skyline Foundation, a $40,000 grant from Klickitat County, and gifts and pledges from individual donors.

This shelter will provide housing in Klickitat County for survivors fleeing domestic violence, and a location for WAGAP’s Programs for Peaceful Living support services.

Leslie Naramore, WAGAP director stated, “Having a safe place to live is a basic human right and something everyone deserves. Your donations brings us one step closer to being able to provide this safe haven for community members.”

Donations for this project can be made online or by check. Please make a note that the donation is for the Domestic Abuse Shelter Project.
